Destry Joins Her Close Compatriot at BI

Destry Damayanti is officially the new BI senior deputy governor on Wednesday (8/7/2019). The former commissioner of Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), unanimously approved by the House of Representatives (DPR) last July, replaced Mirza Adityaswara as the second most powerful person in the central bank. Even though started her career as an economist for Bank Mandiri, worked at LPS, before finally ended up as the BI senior deputy governor just like Mirza did, Destry is relatively closer to the current BI governor Perry Warjiyo than her predecessor.
