Posting Revenues, EXCL Relies on Data

Summary

PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) posted a net profit of Rp 282.4 billion in the first half of 2019, coming out of a loss that had wrapped around it last year. The net profit rose by 393.8 percent from Rp 57.19 billion in the first quarter of 2019. Meanwhile, EXCL revenue grew 11 percent year-on-year (YoY) to Rp 12.26 trillion.

This revenue growth was contributed by a 30.71 percent increase (YoY) in data service revenues, from Rp 6.99 trillion to Rp 9.14 trillion. Data services became the largest contributor to EXCL’s revenue, amounting to 74.5 percent of total revenue. Services other than data such as voice call, SMS, interconnection services and other telecommunications services showed a decline.
