Bottled Drinking Waters: Lifestyle or Living Necessity?

Summary

The Association of Bottled Drinking Water Producers (Aspadin) complained about the Water Resources Bill for not mentioning the separation between bottled drinking water (AMDK) and drinking water supply systems (SPAM). Such an absence had dragged the business continuity of AMDK companies into a critical point.

Aspadin highlighted Article 51 of the bill, which states that water use permits for business needs will only be granted to State-Owned, Regional or Village Enterprises (BUMDes). As a consequence, private AMDK companies had to collaborate with SOEs/BUMDes to form a joint venture or participate in capital injections.
