Pegadaian Innovations Lead to Efficiency

The state-owned firm has decided to close over than 100 branches in various regions and change its model of business to keep up with the technology.

The president director of the firm, as reported by bisnis.com on Wednesday (7/31), revealed that the efficiency, not huge losses, was behind the company’s decision to close some branches. Branch offices are still useful for doing some businesses, but the company will significantly reduce the branch expansion and close inefficient offices in many areas. In exchange, the firm will aggressively invest in the technological sector and recruit more of Pegadaian’s agents.
