Wood Profited from China-US Trade War

Summary

PT Integra Indocabinet Tbk (WOOD) recorded a whopping 20 percent furniture export growth to the US market. The growth was one of many factors boosting the Rp 2.5 trillion sales increase in the first half of 2019 or up 20 percent.

Integra Finance Director Wang Sutrisno said the company profited from the China-US trade war. The war forced Chinese manufacturers, previously held around 50 percent of US furniture market share, to gradually phase out their products from the market. Occupying the hole left by the Chinese manufacturers, WOOD can receive a significant export growth. Wang stated that his company plans to keep the 20 percent sales growth this year by buying some additional production facilities and tools to manufacture new innovative products.
