BNBR Welcomes Electric Vehicles Regulation

PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) is confident that Indonesia electric vehicle industry will flourish in line with the enactment of Presidential Regulation on electric vehicles. However, BNBR Head of Corporate Communications Bayu Nimpuno said that the company still had to pay more attention to the regulation. “We believe the new regulation will accelerate the growth of the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia, in line with the government's intent,” he said as quoted by Bisnis.com, Thursday (8/8).

Previously, BNBR and Chinese automotive company, BYD Auto, planned to gradually increase Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in electric bus products. Currently, the project is entering the first stage, in which BNBR only acts as a seller or distributor of electric buses manufactured by BYD.
