Indonesia Impose Retaliatory Tariff in Response to EU
The government plans to impose a retaliatory import duty besides sending an objection following the European Union’s tariff imposition to Indonesia's biodiesel import. Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita said it is ready to impose import duties on processed milk products from Europe ranging from 20 percent to 25 percent.
The Ministry is currently calculating the impact of such imposition on domestic products that require dairy products, especially related to the potential price increase. Trade Ministry has also invited dairy product importers and would hold a business matching for dairy products to shift the dairy product imports from Europe to other countries, such as the US.
