Telkom to Acquire More Towers

Summary

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) is set to buy 3,000 towers from PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT). Telkom Finance Director Mozarta Zen said that the company delegated one of its sub-holdings, PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi (Mitratel), to handle the purchase. Mitratel would not only conclude the deal but also operate the towers. The company currently has around 12,000-13,000 telecommunication towers.

ISAT’s plan to sell 3,000 telecommunication towers has been circulating for quite some time. DealSreetAsia reported that the company hoped the deal would provide around US$ 300 million, US$ 100,000-200,000 per tower depending on the location, rental time, etc., or Rp 4.27 trillion of fresh funds at Rp 14,227 per USD.
