Bracing for Gas Price Hike

Several businesses are bracing for rising costs amid the declining industry performance, particularly in the export-based sector, after PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) announced a plan to increase gas prices.

The rising industrial gas prices are necessary to cover the costs of developing gas infrastructure and distribution, PGN Corporate Secretary Rachmat Hutama said, adding that the hike is in line with rising production costs on the upstream sector. However, until now, PGN has yet to announce the percentage or value of the gas prices hike for the industry.
