Car Sales Late Acceleration Hurts Auto Industry

Summary

The latest data compiled by the Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers Association (Gaikindo) shows that the wholesales in July 2019 have significantly increased from 59.539 units to 89,110 units or up 49.67 percent month-by-month.

It is the first time in three months straight the monthly car sales are improving. Nevertheless, the total car sales in the first half of 2019 have not been impressive at 570,687 units, or down 13.75 percent year-on-year.
