Better Role for Private Sectors in Government’s Project

Summary

The project run by the Transportation Ministry gained positive responses from investors. Through investor gathering, the ministry is opening opportunities for cooperation with the private sector to develop infrastructure; these include the Motor Vehicle Weighing Implementation Unit (UPPKB) project, type A bus station development, and roadworthiness test and motor vehicle certification (BPLJSKB) proving ground project. The total project value reaches Rp 2.39 trillion.

So far, 88 investors were already interested in these projects, some of them were from abroad like Malaysia, China, South Korea, and Japan, Kontan.co.id reported on Thursday (8/22). Twenty-three investors were interested in the UPPKB project, 25 investors in the type A bus terminal development project, while 40 investors were interested in the BPLJSKB proving ground project. The cooperation scheme offered will later be tailored to investors’ demand, whether it is through utilization cooperation (KSP) or public-private partnership (PPP).
