Bakrie’s Quest to Find Rare Minerals

Bakrie Group is eyeing to mine new minerals. The group, having experienced in the oil and coal mining business, is trying to extract domestic and overseas rare minerals. It delegates the expansion to PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk and its sub-holdings.

EMP Mining Overseas Pte. Ltd, as PT Energi Mega Persada’s sub-holding, is responsible for finding needed minerals overseas. EMP Mining Overseas Director Adinda Bakrie revealed that the minerals were necessary ingredients to develop electric vehicle batteries. He also said that the company’s exploration had even reached Mozambique, Afrika. The country has sufficient rare mineral and granite deposits needed for developing battery.
