RMBA to Focus on Foreign Markets
Bentoel Group is ready to meet the company’s export target at Rp 1.7 trillion worth of 7 billion cigarettes in 2019. “The export realization until June has reached 3.8 billion cigarettes or around Rp 1 trillion,” said Bentoel Group Commissioner President Hendro Matowardjojo on Tuesday (8/27). Bentoel has been exporting its products to 19 countries, such as Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapura, Hong Kong, Kamboja, Timor Leste, Uni Emirat Arab, Jepang, Korea, Afghanistan, Australia, and New Zealand.
Hendro revealed that the list could be longer since the company had been trying to expand to the Middle East. The cigarette producer expected to ship 3,800 tons of products this year, while the current export had reached around 1,800 tons of products. The company had been innovating through the roll-your-own product. The product required only dry tobacco and had entered Australian and New Zealand markets. “We expect this sector to keep growing,” Hendro said.
