EXCL to Fiberize More 5G Networks

PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) is embracing the new 5G technology by applying networks fiberization even though its implementation needs 2-3 more years. In the last two years, EXCL has fiberized around 30 percent of its networks and currently aims at completing around 50 percent of its systems in 2019.

XL Axiata Presiden Director Dian Siswarini, in an interview with CNBC Indonesia, explained that the company has been developing the infrastructure required to increase the data service outside of Java. It is also focusing on preparing the 5G transmission through fiberization to replace microwave networks and expecting to connect 70 BTS in 2020.
