PDIB to Acquire 35% of Domestic Market Share

Summary

PT Panca Budi Idaman Tbk (PBID) expects the construction of the new factory in Pemalang to finish at the beginning of 2020. The factory which will produce around 28,000 tons of plastics per year is part of the company’s determination to produce about 121,000 tons of plastic per year. Panca Budi Idaman Director Lukman Hakim mentioned that the factory construction was the company’s main priority at the moment.

PBID allocates around Rp 200 billion worth of investment for the factory’s construction. Lukman estimated that the increase in production capacity could lift PDIB’s market share from 33 percent to 35 percent. According to Frost and Sullivan’s research compiled by the company, PDIB currently leads the market for consumer packaging with 46 percent of market share in Jabodetabek alone.
