Summary

The Trade Ministry will revise another regulation on imported goods. This time, the ministry plans to issue a new rule on imported livestock and its processed products which will cancel out the previous provision requiring the importers to get halal certificates for the products.

The details and the technicalities of the new regulation will be compiled in the Ministry of Trade Regulation No. 29/2019. It will cancel out the previous regulation No. 59/2016 mentioning that each imported livestock must carry a label consisting of valuable information and halal certification. However, the imported livestock products must both meet Indonesia’s health standard and halal requirements.
