Government to Impose Indonesia National Standard on Lubricants

The government will impose the Indonesia National Standard (SNI) on lubricant products starting from September 10, 2019. The Minister of Industry Regulation No. 25/2018 on the application of Indonesia National Standard on lubricant products. The regulation will hopefully increase the product’s competitiveness in the market.

The Industry Ministry’s Director for the Downstream Chemical Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, added that the government wanted to boost the utilization of domestic lubricant industry through the application of the standard. The usage of the sector could only reach around 42 percent at the moment, but the regular use could lift it to 70 percent.
