Non-fiscal Incentives for electric Vehicles

Summary

The government plans to provide non-fiscal incentives to encourage the electric car industry in the form of convenience for users as well as stimuli that benefit the environmentally-friendly vehicle manufacturer.

Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi promised a series of incentives, aimed to encourage electric cars sales, such as free parking facilities for electric car users and exclusion from even-odd plate number regulation in Jakarta. Meanwhile, the government would purchase 100 electric cars at minimum for official vehicles of government officials as an incentive for manufacturers.
