SKK Migas Seeks Efficiency through Oil and Gas Clusters

Summary

The government, through the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas), will group the oil and gas extractions into clusters based on the oil and gas cooperation contract holders (KKKS). They would be grouped into six or seven clusters and hopefully could operate more efficiently.

The Head of Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force, Dwi Soetjipto, stated that the clusters would consist of various contractors from every sector: upstream sector, commonly in charge with the exploration and exploitation; the midstream sector; and the downstream industry, mostly dealing with the oil and gas sales. Dwi insisted each member of the cluster should collaborate and contribute to each other to be more efficient.
