Seeking Solutions for Salt-Consuming Industries
Salt-consuming industries need to find solutions to keep their factories running as the industrial salt supplies are running low after the government limited import quotas proposed by producers.
Food and beverage producers are among the industries facing difficulties with lower industrial salt supply. Indonesian Food and Beverage Association (Gapmmi) Chairman Adhi Lukman admitted the producers have to use salt intended for the paper industry as a substitute, Bisnis Indonesia reported. Adhi said Gapmmi had submitted 550,000 tons of salt import quota, but the government only approved 300,000 tons.
