Salim Expanding to Game Business

Summary

The Salim Group begins to develop new business. This conglomerate group is working on the digital video business, through its subsidiary, PT Anugerah Kreasi Gemilang or AKG Games, by purchasing specific game product licenses to be marketed in Indonesia.

AKG, which is run by the third generation of the Salim family, has a partnership with Blizzard Entertainment. Blizzard is a producer of best-selling games, including Hearthstone, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Warcraft series, Diablo, and StarCraft series. AKG also holds a card license of The Pokemon Company, an animation firm from Japan, which has many fans around the world. AKG markets Indonesian-language Pokemon cards in the Salim group's Indomaret retail network.
