Investors to Spend Extra Money on Driver’s Certifications

Summary

New investors in the transportation sector will face a new regulation requiring them to employ drivers with particular competence and certificate. The Ministry of Transportation Regulation No. 171/2019 imposes the drivers to meet the National Work Competency Standard (SKKNI).

The Transportation Ministry’s Human Resources Development and Education Department Chief, Umiyatun Hayati Triastuti, said that the government was ready to educate and train the drivers to obtain the standard. The process will hopefully increase safety during the trip and improve the driver’s awareness to drive carefully according to the traffic regulations.
