Incentives Needed to Attract Pension Fund into Infrastructure

Summary

More pension funds and insurance companies are financing government infrastructure projects, such as through the Government Non-Budget Investment Financing (PINA) scheme, PINA Chief Executive Officer Eko Putro Adijayanto said, as quoted by Kontan.co.id, Tuesday (9/17). Among companies that went into infrastructure financing were PT Taspen, PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia), PT AIA Financial (AIA) and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

Taspen and AIA invested in PT Waskita Karya Tbk (WSKT) project, the Kertajati Airport building, West Java, through a limited participation fund (RDPT). Meanwhile, Prudential invested in a project bond issued by PT Jasa Marga Tbk (JSMR). BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is still waiting for the legal basis to put direct investments freely.
