LCGC to Get a Massive Makeover

Summary

The Low-cost green cars (LCGC), massively produced with tax incentive schemes, are getting a makeover. The vehicle manufacturers are upgrading their products with several sophisticated amenities. The upgrade will hopefully improve the looks of the vehicles.

Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra, for example, will get new features such as a touchscreen head unit, steering-wheel-mounted remotes, and some safety features like dual airbags, crash sensor, and anti-lock braking system (ABS). On the other hand, Honda Brio Satya has preceded the upgraded by introducing a new exterior. Features and the change of looks will boost the LCGC price, from around Rp 100 million (in compromise on the initial regulation) to approximately Rp 150 million.
