Microchip Business Gets a Boost from Foreign Funds
Several foreign investors will build semiconductor components or microchip factories, although the fact that the household electronics sales are slowing down. The investment plan is in line with the government’s effort to develop production bases for the electronic component industry and push down the imports of foreign materials.
According to the Industry Ministry’s data, the companies developing Indonesian semiconductors, electronic components, and electronics industries are Pegatron Technology Indonesia, Simatelex Manufactory Batam, Siix Electronics Indonesia, and Sammyung Precision Batam. Simatelex, Sammyung, dan Pegatron have realized Rp 45 billion, Rp 63 billion, and Rp 500 billion worth of investments in Batam.
