JPFA Vows to Dominate Timor Leste’s Poultry Market

Summary

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPFA) is intensifying the exports of poultry products to Timor Leste. The company exported 60 tons of poultry feed to the country on Monday (9/23) after successfully exported 40 tons of poultry feed. JPFA also exported 30 tons of frozen chicken and 30 tons of processed poultry meat. The company delegates one of its sub-holdings, PT Ciomas Adisatwa, to carry out the exports and plans to keep increasing the volume up to 100 tons until November 2019.

JPFA’s target in Timor Leste is to dominate the market, currently held by Brazil and Malaysia companies. The company is teaming up with a local private company managing a vast network of supermarkets to reach it. The management believes the team-up could boost the export volume to 1,000 tons next year. However, JPFA is also considering the possibility to expand to other countries, such as Hong Kong, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates.
