Non-Tax Revenue to Become Unreliable in the Future
The government is struggling to meet the state’s tax revenue target this year. Besides, the non-tax revenue (PNPB) is still far from expectation. By August 2019, the non-tax revenue was Rp 268.2 trillion or 70.9 percent of this year’s target at Rp 378.3 trillion. However, the Finance Ministry has previously set the non-tax revenue’s outlook to reach 102.1 percent of the goal or Rp 386.33 trillion at the end of the year.
As reported by kontan.co.id on Wednesday (9/25), the low number of non-tax revenue is a result of the declining trend of global commodity prices as well as the global economic slowdown. Fortunately, the non-tax revenue will increase quite significantly after including Rp 30.09 trillion worth of reserve assets from Bank Indonesia (BI) and Rp 42.39 trillion worth of dividend from state-owned enterprises (SOEs) or Rp 72.38 trillion in total.
