PZZA to Capitalize on the Bright Prospect of Fast-Food Business

Summary

PT Sarimelati Kencana Tbk (PZZA) keeps on expanding its outlets. By August 2019, the company, holding the US fast-food restaurant brand, has already opened 41 new Pizza Hut outlets in Indonesia. It targets to open up to 60-65 new outlets until the end of the year. To realize it, PZZA has prepared Rp 450 billion of funds, with the assumption each outlet needs around Rp 3-10 billion to operate, depending on the size and location.

The director of PZZA revealed to Kontan that the outlet expansions varied from Pizza Hut Restaurant, Pizza Hut Delivery, dan Pizza Hut Express. The company also intended to open new outlets outside of Java, around 40 percent of total new outlets. Nevertheless, Sarimelati Kencana owns about 492 Pizza Hut outlets and will add eight more outlets by the end of this month. Besides the expansions, the company is currently building a new sauce factory operating next year.
