Foreign Airlines, Please Enter

The government opens up big opportunities for foreign airlines to expand in Indonesia. Currently, foreign airlines are no longer constrained by operational area restrictions as the government permits them to operate on all domestic routes.

According to the Transportation Ministry’s Air Transportation Director Maria Kristi Endah, complicated calculations are no longer used for airline flight permits. Before 2015, Maria added, the route balance aspect hampered airline operations by taking into account the interests of local players. “Now, you're welcome to fly anywhere. The important thing is to hold safety and security,” she said, as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia.
