SGRO's Production Impervious to the Long Dry Season

This year’s dry season is longer than usual. According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the wet season would probably start in October or even November. However, PT Sampoerna Agro Tbk (SGRO) was optimistic the company could reach this year’s target to produce crude oil price at 419,381.55 tons even though the production in the first half 2019 was only 163,700 tons.

The SGRO’s head of investor relations, Michael Kesuma, admitted that the long dry season threatens the palm oil production. Nevertheless, SGRO could minimize the impact through various intensification techniques. One of the most frequently used methods was by maintaining the plants’ humidity.
