Government to Boost Franchise Sector

Summary

Trade Ministry issued Trade Ministry Regulation No. 71/2019 on franchising. The new regulation would hopefully boost the franchise industry since it offered various incentives. As reported by Kontan.co.id on Monday (9/30), some of the most relieving incentives in the statutes are the removal of franchise outlets limits and the absence of local content requirements (TKDN).

Besides, the government will not limit the master franchise holder for the foreign franchisor and will not give any different treatment between international and domestic franchisors. It means that the franchise owner could offer the operational to more than one person.
