Triggering Migration to the Gas Network
The use of low-cost 3-kg LPG canisters sees a decline after the government cut the selling price of pipeline-network gas. The session of the Committee for the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) concluded that the selling price of gas to households and small-scale customers is lower than the price of the 3-kg and 12-kg LPG canisters.
Head of BPH Migas Fanshrullah Asa said the gas prices for household consumer category one and small customer one are set no more than Rp 4,250 per cubic meter, lower than that of 3 kg LPG canisters which reach Rp 5,013 to Rp 6,226 per cubic meter. The gas prices for household consumers category two and small-customers two are set at Rp 6,250 per cubic meter, cheaper than the 12-kg LPG canisters which reach Rp 9,085 to Rp 11,278 per cubic meter. The price is set for seven regions, including Aceh Regency, Lhokseumawe, Medan, Musi Rawas Regency, Deli Serdang Regency, Serang Regency, and North Penajam Paser Regency.
