PGAS to Delay Gas Price Hike

Summary

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) has finally delayed the increase in gas prices for commercial and industrial purposes. According to the PGAS’ initial plan, the price should have increased since October 1, 2019. The state-owned natural gas producer revealed that the reason for the delay was because the company needed more time to evaluate whether the price rise was a correct decision.  “We are still reviewing it,” the president director of PGAS revealed to Kontan on Tuesday (10/1).

However, the delay is temporary, only for about one month. PGAS revealed that the increase in gas prices for commercial and industrial purposes would vary, depending on the segments. At the moment, the selling price of PGAS’ natural gas to end-users is around US$ 8 to US$ 10 per MMBtu.
