Threats over Jokowi’s Legitimacy from Buzzers

Since the start of protests opposing controversial revision of several laws, many pro-government buzzers, or persons with the ability to influence the thoughts, behavior, and actions of their audiences, had published writings, news, and speeches accompanied by photos or screenshots on social media, aimed at downplaying the rally. The latest was widespread of WhatsApp screenshots showing group chats from vocational school students.

In the screenshot, many numbers portrayed that the students’ actions were moved and that the students were paid for participating in the protests and damaging properties. However, according to Tirto.id and Merdeka.com's search, most of the numbers belonging to the group turned out to be owned by police officers.
