Bukalapak’s Last Chance to Prove Its Worth

Summary

One of Indonesia’s unicorns, Bukalapak, announced that Shinhan Financial Group Co Ltd, a Korea-based company, recently took part in the company’s ongoing Series-F funding round. The funding round reportedly boosted Bukalapak’s valuation to more than US$ 2.5 billion. However, Bukalapak refused to disclose the total of investments it received.

Bukalapak had previously pocketed several investments from various parties such as Ant Financial, Mirae Asset-Naver Asia Growth Fund, GIC, and Grup Emtek. In January 2019, Bukalapak even successfully secured US$ 50 million or around Rp 706.6 billion worth of funds from Mirae Asset Daewoo and Naver Asia Growth Fund.
