MNC's Ambition to Dominate Internet TV

Summary

PT MNC Vision Networks Tbk (IPTV) plans to buy shares from another competitor, which is engaged in the Internet-based television service business in Indonesia. In a public disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), MNC Vision Networks President Director Ade Tjendra said IPTV had begun discussions with the targeted company, including its major shareholders.

Both parties had even signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on Friday (10/4) last week. Unfortunately, Ade did not reveal the identity of the company. “This corporate action is intended to create synergies in content, advertising, networks, and bandwidth," Ade said. In July, IPTV acquired a 60 percent stake in K-Vision.
