Government’s Big Plan in Super Touristy Spot
The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, stated that the government wants to make Komodo Island as a premium tourist spot. Ticket prices can be proposed to reach US$ 1,000-2,000 or Rp 14-28 million per person.
The government is looking for foreign investors to manage the beautiful island. According to Luhut, a US investor is interested in the Komodo Island partnership plan. This plan is part of the government's newest efforts to boost the tourism industry.
This year, the government set four super-priority tourism destinations to boost the tourism sector. The four super locations are Lake Toba, Mandalika, Borobudur, and Labuan Bajo (Komodo Island).
