SLIS to Capitalize on the Electric Vehicle Trend

PT Gaya Abadi Sempurna Tbk (SLIS) aims to multiply the company’s production 1.5 times bigger than the current output next year. By the end of the year, SLIS intends to produce around 48,000-50,000 units of electric vehicles, which means that the company plans to manufacture around 75,000 units of electric bike and motorcycle, named Selis, in 2020. Hopefully, SLIS could increase the sales from this year's target at Rp 408 billion to Rp 530 billion or up 29.9 percent year-on-year.

In the next two years, SLIS will focus on manufacturing two-wheel and three-wheel electric vehicles. The company’s factory, located in Cikupa, Tangerang, can produce up to 125,000 units per year, even though its utilization is currently around 30 percent. As a result, SLIS plans to release two new products, one electric bike, and one electric motorcycle, harnessing a 2,000-watt battery.
