Livestock Industry Awaits "Quarantine Islands"

President Joko Widodo has issued a government regulation in lieu of law (PP) No. 69 on quarantine islands. Quarantine islands are isolated islands intended to prevent animal diseases, possibly carried out by the ruminant broodstocks. According to the regulation, the ruminant broodstocks are the ruminants intended for breeding. Indonesian exporters could bring ruminant broodstocks from overseas as long as the exports meet the requirements stated in the Law No. 41/2014.
